I've encountered a similar situation. I write for 2 other sites, MobileBurn and SMStextnews. Most people who know me online don't know that I am the 'Ricky' who writes on SMStextnews (which reminds me, I need to chat with Ewan about an official announcement). Thus, the long-term benefit of that job isn't near as big as on MobileBurn. At MobileBurn, it's been well publicised that it's me. My posts there have my first and last name, and I even have a tag at the bottom of every post that says, "In addition to being our News Editor, Ricky writes at Symbian-Guru.com" or something to that effect.

In planning my days, it's important to me to take a look at what is going to be beneficial to my name, since that's basically my product nowadays. I don't currently make enough revenue at Symbian-Guru to really consider it. However, it's important to me to grow that, since that's how I got the other two positions.

More important to me is the goal of being able to fully support myself (and future wife) on the income I generate from Symbian-Guru. I'll likely keep on at MobileBurn as well, but it's extremely important to me to build Symbian-Guru into a revenue-producing project, as opposed to a resume-building project.

It's similar to your situation, in that do you invest time and energy into your own name, or accept the money someone else gives you to promote their name?
